If you’re keen to transition to electric driving, be sure to check out our Kia hybrid, plug-in hybrid and 100% electric vehicles.
Here at Burton Kia, we have a wide range of electrified models for you to choose from, each offering enhanced efficiency while producing low or even zero harmful emissions. What’s more, the vast majority of our electrified vehicles are Clean Air Zone/ULEZ compliant.
Electrified vehicles can be split into three categories.
A hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) is one step up from a conventional car because, while it’s equipped with a combustion engine, it also features an electric motor. An HEV uses its electric motor at low speeds while the engine takes care of higher speeds. The result: enhanced efficiency and lower emissions – and self-charging convenience.
A plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) has a similar setup to that of an HEV, but the main difference is that the electric motor does more of the heavy lifting, which is very useful in the city. For example, the Kia Sportage PHEV offers a range of up to 43 miles. PHEVs are very fuel efficient, produce low CO2 emissions, and require manual charging.
The most efficient form of motor car, an electric vehicle (EV) runs entirely on electricity which means it’s very affordable to run and produces zero harmful emissions. EVs offer considerable electric range too – for instance, the Kia EV6 can travel up to 328 miles on a single charge.
